PES2008League has been a semi success with 437 members in all. I can only say semi success because it's far from perfect. There's a lack of matches played due to connection problems and players not being available to play at the same time. There's also problems with the result submission system being open to abuse.

This is not a fairwell message though, This unofficial PES League will be back. But before it returns it's going to be redesigned from the ground up. The bad news is that it's likely to take 2-3 months.

This new league will have PES 2009 in mind but will be lauched at first for PES 2008 at this domain. The idea of being promoted through divisions to try and find a winner for each platform will stay in place and if you played in the old league you will start off in the Division you ended in.

The main changes that are going to be implemented are as follows:

  • New look site with improved layout
  • Players will have to confirm their email address after registering to avoid any bogus email addresses
  • The teams you can pick will depend on your division. Top notch teams like Manchester Utd will only be used in the 1st Division and the Premier League.
  • You'll be able to play anyone in your Division at any time.
  • After 5 matches you'll receive promotion depending on the number of points you have scored. (3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw).
  • If you're in the 3rd Division or above then relegation may happen if you don't score enough points during the 5 matches.
  • The ranking system will be overhauled to suit the new league system. You'll be rated partially on your performance of your current mini league of 5 matches and partially on your overall performance. It will still reflect how well people are progressing through the tournament.
  • All platforms will be integrated into the same site. You'll be able to see stats, results and rankings for all platforms or just yours.
  • Submission will be done by the loser of the match. Winners will be able to report people that fail to submit and the site will automatically take action.
  • Players will be able to see who's logged into this site in their division and send a message to challenge them to a match.
